Delta Launches The Unisaw Mobile Base

The above photo shows that Unisaw is now mobile. I received the base last week, and finally had the time to put it together.

It is super easy to assemble. Attach the stationary wheels to the base with a couple of bolts. Next, attach the clips to the legs of the extension table. Finally, attach the swivelcaster to the frame. This is where you will need assistance.

It took three editors to place the table saw into the mobile base. After positioning the base under the extension table and tight to the saw bottom, we tilted the saw up, lifting at the table legs. With enough clearance, Megan Fitzpatrick slid the base under one edge of the saw and Bob Lang and I slowly allowed the unit to settle down onto the mobile base.

The only thing left was to move the saw into its proper location. Megan kept the mobile base still as we moved the unit. The table was quickly inserted into the mobile base with a little thump.

Add the J-hooks to the extension legs to attach the units. (See the photo). This is a bang-up method to hold the legs to the unit , fast, cheap and easy. Someone thought of this at Delta. Nice job.

The mobile base works great. The mobile base is great if you own a Unisaw and need it to be moved around in your shop, even if it’s just to clean up the dust occasionally. Units are shipping at this time. The base for the extension of 91 cm (which we have in our shop) is priced at. The longer base, 132 cm is priced at
